Alice Neel Study

I have been told, more than once, that my paintings remind folks of Alice Neel.
So, I bought a book all about her and her work, and this is the first study I have created so far.
I think I was drawn to it because it’s a painting of a child, which is where I find the most comfort.
I really love her bold brush work, it reminds me of Van Gogh, my favorite artist.
