Edouard Manet, an impressionist painter, is one of the first artists I studied when I began taking my art seriously.
I am self taught, and so I learned everything I know from practice and from reading books.
Manet’s work stood out to me, and so began my love for Impressionism! To this day, it is my favorite genre of art.
This painting spoke to me, its serene nature, a family on a picnic, I connected with it on a personal level by imagining my own family sitting on the grass amidst the trees. Not to mention the chickens, did I already say how much I love chickens?
